One woman was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries after a vehicle crashed into her house, according to a Miami-Dade Fire Rescue spokesperson.
The woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue spokesperson Felipe Lay said. The driver of the vehicle sustained slight bruises. No other people were in the vehicle.
Rescue personnel were called to the home in Biscayne Boulevard at dawn. Upon arrival, they saw a navy blue four-door sedan had crashed into the house. The damage compromised the structure in one area as concrete caved in. Rescue crews cleared some debris resulting from the crash before gaining access to the building to rescue the victim.
Besides the injured middle-aged woman, no one else was in the home at the time of the crash. “It is not clear if the injured woman lives alone in the house,” Lay said. Upon medical examination, she complained of back pain from the accident and was transported to the hospital.
Further information on the cause of the crash was not immediately available.
Dr. Brian Elias, from The Accident and Injury Team, comments on this crash in Miami “This is an unusual crash with injuries. It isn’t every day that a person hits a house while driving but we have seen this happen before. I does appear that an innocent person in the home was hurt and she was complaining of back pain. If you are unsure of what to do when you’ve been involved in an accident, please give our team a call. We can treat your injuries and also, if you wish, refer you to a very competent attorney in case you have a legal claim. Since we are NOT an attorney referral service, we have no interest in your legal claim beyond trying to help you obtain the best attorney to help you.”
