It was reported that a woman, age 41, sustained life-threatening injuries after she was sideswiped by another vehicle.
According to the statement by the Boston Police Department, the woman sustained traumatic injuries on Cummins Hwy close to Calvary Cemetery. She was reported to have injuries to her neck and chest. This happened when her 2014 Dodge Avenger swerved out of her lane and hit another car. Her car ended up in a ditch after it left the roadway. The other car in the accident was able to stop on the shoulder of the road, police said.
At this time the reason that the Dodge left its lane is still unknown.
A witness reported that she swerved off her lane and struck an oncoming car, driven by a young man, 26-year-old. The car that the Dodge hit was occupied by a driver and one passenger. It was reported that they also sustained non-life-threatening injuries, on the head, neck, arm and legs.
The authorities are still investigating the cause of the accident.
Dr. Brian Elias, from The Accident and Injury Team, comments on this crash. “At this time we don’t know the reason why the driver of the Dodge failed to stay in her lane. It could have been that she was distracted while driving. Please make sure that you are never distracted while you are driving on our streets and highway. ”
