In a report received from the Police Department, a 2014 Chevy Malibu crashed into an ambulance on Cambridge Street while returning from a repair.
According to a report from a Boston Police Department’s spokesman, a 24 year-old man crashed into an ambulance along Wilton Street. The ambulance was reportedly returning from an auto repair shop when the accident happened.
It was reported that the Malibu struck the right side of the ambulance at the intersection of Cambridge St at Wilton Street. The ambulance flipped and landed on the shoulder of the road after the crash. The front part of the Malibu was severely damaged and the windshield was smashed.
The driver and the passenger of the Chevy were severely injured, police said.
Emergency crews arrived minutes after they received the call about the accident. Upon arrival they were able to remove the victims from their vehicles and attend to their injuries. The accident victims were transported to the hospital in another ambulance.
The driver of the ambulance that was in the accident also had minor injuries. It was reported that he complained of back and hip pain. The cause of the crash is still being investigated.
