It was reported that two teens and the driver of a car were injured in this accident. According to police the Honda failed to stop at a crosswalk, hit the two teens and then collided with a light post. This happened at a busy intersection in Roxbury, police said. It was added that the driver of the car sustained non-life-threatening injuries. They were transported to a nearby hospital as reported by Police Commissioner, William B. Evans.
The accident reportedly happened when four youths were walking across the street near the Reggie Lewis Center. Police further described that this spot is by the intersection of Malcolm X Boulevard and Tremont Street.
Evans said, “We had four young kids crossing. It looks like they were in the crosswalk at the time.” He added that the two other teenagers were not injured in the accident. The cause of the crash is still not known. Evans stated, “For whatever reason, the driver seemed to have lost control of the vehicle. I don’t know if it was medical or some type of distracted driving. We’re not sure.”
