Several people involved in an accident are in critical condition after the two-vehicle crash on US 60, Louisville Metro Police Department’s spokesman said.
It is reported that two women and three men were involved in the two-SUV collision. The LMPD spokesman said the accident involved a black 2015 Toyota Highlander and a blue BMW X5. The crash happened between Pendleton Rd and Landstar Dr, along Dixie Highway located close to Shell Gas Station, in Orell.
Emergency crews arrived at the scene of the crash to attend to the victims within a few minutes after the crash. One of the women was reported to have injuries to her right arm. Others also sustained severe injuries to the head, back and legs. The driver of the black SUV was reported to be immobile on arrival of the response crew. According to the crew’s report, there are three life-threatening injuries and two non-life-threatening.
The names of the victims have been withheld while the authorities confirm their identity. However, they have all been transported to a local hospital.
There is traffic slowdowns on southbound Dixie Highway due to the accident that occurred. Drivers are advised to be patient or take an alternative route.
