A female driver from Attleboro crashed a school bus with students onboard into two trees on two separate occasions.
The 34-year-old woman was transporting ten Raynham Middle School students when she drove the bus into the first tree. She later backed into a second tree, smashing the bus’ rear windshield, police said. The woman reportedly drove recklessly, claiming she was running late.
According to the police, the woman exceeded the speed limit on her routes. The bus reportedly crashed on two different occasions. On the second crash, the school bus was immobilized
The extent of this accident was not limited to bus damage, however, as several injuries to the children riding along were also sustained.
Three of the students sustained neck, arm and hip injuries. Meanwhile, the bus driver suffered head and knee injuries from the second crash as reported by the police who were handling the incident.
First responders transported the victims to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Dr. Brian Elias, from The Accident and Injury Team, comments on this crash. “Accidents involving children are always unfortunate; however, this one in Boston is especially disturbing because the driver was operating the vehicle in a reckless manner. We hope everyone who was injured has a speedy recovery from this crash. Children are delicate and any injury, minor or major, can have a huge impact on their lives growing up.”
