A 2013 Chevrolet Impala rolled over after it was reportedly struck by a 2014 BMW X6 along KY-1020.
It was reported that the BMW SUV was traveling at a high rate of speed when the 26 year old driver lost control of the vehicle. The cause of this has yet to be determined, police said. A distraction may have occurred or there could have been mechanical issues at fault.
As the driver of the SUV lost vehicle control, he reportedly veered off track and forcefully hit the Chevy. The 65-year-old male driver of the Chevy then swerved and rolled over, police said. The BMW also flipped on it’s side after it struck the car.
This accident reportedly resulted in life-threatening injuries to the two drivers. The emergency responders arrived at the site of the crash to immediately asses both victims.
These two men were reportedly transported to a hospital nearby for treatment, police said. Both of the drivers were immediately placed on life support. Further information will be released pending the investigation.
Dr. Brian Elias, from The Accident and Injury Team, commented on the crash. “We are sorry to hear about this tragic accident that put two people in critical condition in Louisville.
