According to Louisville Metro Police, a minivan rolled over on Aiken Road resulting in life-threatening injuries to two people
It was reported by the police that a minivan driven by a 47-year-old woman rolled over in a crash. The accident happened southbound on Aiken Road, police said.
A police officer, who was on the site of the crash said the rollover may have be caused by a blown-out tire. He said one of the minivan’s tires was deflated with a large hole in the sidewall. However, the officer said there may have been some other factors the led to the crash which is still being investigated.
The emergency crew arrived to give medical care to the victim within minutes after the crash occurred. The driver, with her 19-year-old daughter, were both in the car at the time of the accident.
According to the crew, both the woman and her daughter sustained traumatic injuries. In this type of accident it is common to see injuries to the head, shoulder, back and sometimes legs. Both of the victims were reportedly extricated from the minivan and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
As soon as the police conclude their investigations, more details of this crash will be made available to the public.
Dr. Brian Elias, from The Accident and Injury Team, comments on this crash. “It was reported that a mother and daughter were involved in this traumatic roll-over accident. We hope that their injuries are not too severe and that they have a speedy recovery.”
