Law enforcement officials say a motorcyclist was transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries sustained in a collision with a pickup truck on Melnea Cass Boulevard.
Officals say the accident happened on Melnea Cass Boulrvard when a 26-year-old male motorcycle driver apparently exceeded the speed limit while driving. A witness of the accident reported that the motorcyclist collided with a Toyota pickup truck while making a turn. He rear-ended the truck after he tried to apply the brakes to avoid the crash, police said.
EMS was called and arrived at the site of the accident soon after the crash happened. The motorcycle rider, who was unconscious upon EMS arrival, was treated at the scene of the crash and given on-site first aid. He was quickly transported to the hospital with serious life-threatening injuries, authorities reported. The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.
The route to the crash site was closed down for 2 hours due to the accident and no other details were released to the public.
Dr. Brian Elias, from The Accident and Injury Team, commented on the crash. “It is unfortunate to hear about this motorcycle-pickup accident, causing traumatic injuries to the motorcyclist in Boston.
