Boston Police report that a 2014 Mazda 3 crashed into a school bus after running a traffic light.
According to police a 42-year-old man from Newton crashed into a school bus with students on board. The crash happened on Perkins Street near Jamaicaway Intersection when the driver drove straight into the intersection without stopping for the red traffic light. It struck the school bus on it’s side which was heading eastbound on Perkins Street. After being struck by the driver in the first vehicle the 41-year-old driver of the bus lost control, swerved and flipped on it’s side before coming to a stop on the road.
An emergency crew spokesman reported that some of the children in the school bus suffered from minor and major injuries. The drivers of the vehicles also received injuries during the accident. All of the victims who were injured in the crash, two adults and four students, were transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
The cause of the crash is still being investigated by law enforcement.
