Man struck by vehicle sustains life-threatening injuries, according to police.
Boston Police Department reported that an accident occurred near the intersection of East Broadway and H Street. At this time, the police have not issued a report stating how the accident happened. Police do not know if the crash happened because the man was attempting to cross the intersection. Additionally, they are not certain if the driver of the car veered off the road to hit the pedestrian. However, the driver did stop and stay in his vehicle to give his statement to the authorities.
An anonymous witness said the crash could be due to alcohol, stating, “It appears that the driver sped into the intersection…or it could as well be due distraction.”
First emergency responders were sighted at the crash soon after it happened. It was reported that the pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash. He sustained head, hip and leg injuries. He has been taken to a nearby hospital for medical care.
Police are still on the site of the accident, and investigating the cause of the crash.
