Louisville Metro Police reported a multi-vehicle accident that resulted in several injuries on I-265.
The accident occurred on I-265, Gene Snyder Freeway. According to the police, a white colored car driven by a 21-year-old woman struck another car while in motion. The accident resulted in several crashes. Subsequently, other oncoming vehicles ran into the scene, causing more crashes and injuries.
The police are still investigating the cause of the crash. Police do not know whether alcohol or distracted driving contributed to the crash. The exact cause of the accident is not known, police said.
According to authorities, a total of five cars and nine people were involved in the crash.
Emergency crew transported the injured victims to a nearby hospital.
