Louisville Metro Police Department is currently investigating a severe accident involving a motorcyclist and sedan in Louisville.
A Hyundai, driven by a 23-year-old, reportedly crashed into a 26-year-old motorcyclist who was riding a Harley Davidson. The fiery accident happened after the Hyundai driver lost control of the car, police said.
LMPD concluded that the Hyundai driver exceeded the speed limit. They confirmed this from the readings taken from the car. Thus, the excessive speed offered significant proof that the driver lost control, a police officer said.
Subsequently, the motorcyclist was thrown off the bike; he tumbled to the shoulder of the road. Then, the cyclist purportedly crashed into the guardrail, while the motorcycle smashed across the road.
The motorcyclist sustained traumatic injuries. Emergency crews transported him to the hospital.
The police investigation is ongoing, and no charges have been filed yet.
Dr. Brian Elias, from The Accident and Injury Team, commented on the crash. “We are sorry to hear about this unfortunate crash involving a motorcyclist here in Louisville. We hope his injuries are not life-threatening, and we wish him a speedy recovery from this crash. Incidentally, both minor and major crashes can lead to severe neck and back injuries, so we urge the public to seek medical and legal recourse after an accident.
