It was reported by a LMPD spokesman that a minivan crashed into the rear of a school bus and caused injuries to children.
According to the report, the 41 year-old man crashed a minivan into a school bus on Beulah Church Rd near Johnson School Rd. A witness said the minivan driver seemed distracted. “The school bus was stopped at a traffic light when the minivan hit it from behind,” he said.
It was reported that the driver was in critical condition after the crash. The passenger seated beside the driver was also injured. They both had injuries to their necks, back and shoulders, Louisville Metro Police Department spokesman said. There were 3 juveniles and a 37 year-old driver in the school bus, police said. Only two of the juveniles reportedly complained of pains and injuries.
First emergency responders arrived at the crash site. The two people in the minivan were transported to a nearby hospital. Drivers should be patient on this route due to traffic delays caused by the accident.
Dr. Brian Elias, from The Accident and Injury Team, comments on this crash. “It’s tragic whenever you see an accident that involves children especially when they are injured and not accompanied by their parents. We hope that everyone involved in this accident has a speedy recovery.”
