Police department’s spokesman reported that three men sustained injuries after a 2013 Chevrolet Spin Minivan crashed on Shawnee Expressway (I-264).
The driver of the van, a 51-year-old, reportedly lost control of the van and flipped while trying to stop the vehicle. The van then T-boned an oncoming car on the driver’s side. The car then rolled off the road and landed on its side right near E. Leland Taylor Park.
The driver of the minivan had serious injuries and his passenger, a 43-year-old man, sustained only minor ones. The driver of the car was a 34-year-old man who sustained life-threatening injuries which included damage to his left leg and his left arm. All of the victims involved in the accident were rushed to the city hospital for medical attention.
The cause of the crash is being investigated.
