Authorities are investigating a ghastly wreck on Northeast 125th Street and 1st Court that led to a man sustaining critical injuries.

According to officials the crash involved a sedan and a sports utility vehicle. The SUV rammed into the sedan from behind causing it to hit a tree before coming to a stop.

The man driving the sedan was taken to the nearest hospital for prompt medical attention having sustained critical injuries to his neck and back. The driver of the SUV also received non-life threatening injuries and was also transported to the hospital by an emergency response team.

The names of the parties involved in the crash were not released and no further information has been given by authorities at the time of filing this report.

Comments:

Dr. Brian Elias, from The Accident and Injury Team, commented on the crash.  “Being struck from behind is almost always a sure way to sustain neck and back injuries of varying degrees. Often these injuries do not show any outward signs for days after an accident. Please do not wait until it’s too late to see a medical or legal professional. We hope that the victims involved in this accident get the help they need and deserve.”
