A man was hospitalized after crashing his tractor-trailer in an accident on Southeast Expy (I-93).
Police said that the tractor-trailer crashed on the Southeast Expressway when a 49-year-old man driving south in a 2015 Freight-liner truck veered off the side of the road and crashed onto it’s side. The cause of the crash was not known at the time of this writing.
First emergency responders and fire rescue teams arrived at the site of the crash soon after it happened. According to the emergency crew the operator of the tractor-trailer and his passenger were found lying on the side of the road. It was reported that the cab of the truck caught fire after the accident happened but no one was injured by the flames.
The operator was severely injured and bloodied from the wreck while the condition of his passenger was unknown. Both men were taken to a nearby hospital for their injuries.
Police shut the roadway down for an hour and a half while traffic was diverted through another route while officials investigated the scene.
Dr. Brian Elias, from The Accident and Injury Team, commented on the crash. “We hope that all of the injured victims involved in this accident have a speedy recovery. The driver of the truck was severely injured but even minor accidents can cause severe injuries and we urge the public to seek aid from professionals who know what to do in serious situations like these. Do not hesitate to get the help you deserve.”
