Four people are severely injured after a head-on collision on Mt Vernon street near the University of Massachusetts in Boston.
Police spokesman stated that the accident happened close to the University of Massachusetts right near Columbia Point. The 41-year-old woman driving a 2012 Chevrolet Cobalt lost control of her car along Mt Vernon Street and entered the opposite lane crashing head-on with a Lexus car. According to the report the Chevy was driving at a high speed and knocked the Lexus off of the road onto the shoulder of the road.
The driver of the Chevy sustained minor injuries and was treated at the site of the accident before being taken to the hospital.
The Lexus was driven by a 26-year-old man who had two passengers in the Lexus with him during the accident. When EMS arrived they had to extract the driver and his passengers from the Lexus who all sustained various injuries from the collisions. The three victims were transported to a nearby hospital by helicopter to treat the critical injuries.
Authorities are investigating the crash and no further details were released.
