Highway Patrol in Boston reported one dead and 4 people traumatically injured in a multi-vehicle accident on The Boston Expressway.
The fatal crash involved two cars and a semi-truck. It was reported that the front tire of a Toyota Camry blow out while it was going at highway speed which caused the accident. The 34-year-old driver of Camry lost control of the car and swerved out of its lane, police said.
When it swerved into another lane it was reported that it struck a semi-truck struck on the drivers side. After the semi-truck hit the car, the semi-truck driver reportedly swerved and also struck another oncoming car.
First emergency responders arrived at the site of the crash within a few minutes. Four people were reported to have sustained severe injuries; 3 life-threatening cases and 1 non life-threatening case. Major injuries that were reported are of the head, back, chest and legs.
All the victims of the crash have been transported to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the Camry was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital, the police have reported.
