Authorities report that a Pickup truck struck a Metro Cab on Everett Street just overhead of the Massachusetts Turnpike.
Boston Police Department’s Spokesman reported that the accident happened on Everett Street near Adamson Street. The cab driver was driving out of the Metro Cab Office on Braintree Street with a 26-year-old passenger in the cab. A pickup truck headed out of Adamson Street and turned onto Everett Street at a high speed and struck the Metro cab.
The 34-year-old truck driver was suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol. He was in the truck with a friend who was also suspected of drinking alcohol, police said. Both of the men in the truck were injured from the crash and reportedly suffered head and back injuries. They were both unconscious after the accident.
The 33-year-old Metro cab driver and his passenger also sustained severe injuries from the accident. EMS reported that the four people injured in the crash were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
At the time of this report no charges had been filed.
