Authorities report that the driver of a Ford Expedition SUV was seriously injured after he was involved in a rollover crash in Northwest Miami-Dade County.
A report by the spokeswoman for Miami-Dade Fire Rescue, Andrea Rudchenco, said the crash occurred after the driver of a white car collided with a blue Ford Expedition SUV at northwest 186th Street and Northeast 57th Avenue. The SUV reportedly rolled over during the collision causing several injuries.
Rescue workers were spotted at the scene of the crash as they pried the driver out of the SUV. EMS arrived to the scene of the accident and reported that the driver of the blue Ford Expedition SUV was airlifted to the Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center. His medical condition was not disclosed in the report while the identity of the driver that was airlifted in the crash has yet to be released to the public.
Reports also say that the driver of the white car suffered minor injuries and was treated by paramedics at the scene of the accident.
Dr. Brian Elias, from The Accident and Injury Team, comments on this crash. “Rear-end accidents are one of the most dangerous kinds of accidents. Often, when a person is rear-ended they are completely taken off-guard and have not had an opportunity to brace for an impact. Rear-end accidents often lead to serious back and neck injuries. We hope that those involved receive the proper medical care.”
