Two women have been hospitalized as a result of a crash on I-95 South Boulevard near Northwest 103rd Street in Miami-Dade.
According to the official report, the collision happened when a truck ran into the vehicle driven by one of these women. The unexpected high impact critically injured the two ladies inside the vehicle.
EMS crews rushed to the scene and quickly stabilized the two women for transport. They were rushed to the nearest hispital where they remain in critical care at the time of this report. Officials report that they both sustained life- threatening injuries but doctors were hopeful of their recovery.
The driver of the truck remained at the scene to help the women and answer the officer’s questions once they arrived. The driver was clearly distraught, the authorities reported, but they’re still unsure what factors were involved in him crashing into the other vehicle.
An investigation into the accident has begun to try to explain how the events unfolded and if charges will be filed or not. No further details have been given to the press.
Dr. Brian Elias, from The Accident and Injury Team, comments on this crash. “Rear-end accidents are one of the most dangerous kinds of accidents. Often, when a person is rear-ended they are completely taken off-guard and have not had an opportunity to brace for an impact. Rear-end accidents often lead to serious back and neck injuries. We hope that those involved receive the proper medical care.”
