A Boston police officer has been involved in a 2-vehicle collision while responding to a separate crash.
According to the report by officials, the police officer traveled northbound on MA-28 when the accident occurred. He was headed for another accident on the same road when another vehicle crashed into his cruiser.
Boston EMS said the officer sustained minor injuries to his arm and leg; paramedics treated him at the scene of the accident.
Meanwhile, the other driver, who operated a Honda Crosstour, suffered some bruises to his head as well as some other injuries. He was treated on the scene by the medical team and then transferred to a nearby hospital.
Reports indicate that the initial accident the police officer was dispatched to did not have any casualties, save minor car damages.
The northbound lanes of MA-28 were closed earlier for several hours as emergency crews cleared the scene. However, the lanes have been reopened.
No other details about the crash have been released.
Dr. Brian Elias, from The Accident and Injury Team, commented on the crash. “We are sorry to hear about this accident, involving a police officer here in Boston.
