A driver lost control of her vehicle, leading to a double-vehicle accident on Corey St., near VFW Pkwy, police report.
A 35-year-old woman admitted to police that she lost control of her vehicle. Subsequently, police stated that she could not control her car because of a possible wheel misalignment or other mechanical fault. The car pulled onto the pavement by the side of the road and back to the road intermittently, police said.
Authorities reported that this happened on and off several times, as the vehicle hit some concrete guardrails and then went back into the road. The woman’s uncontrollable 2011 Ford Focus sedan then sideswiped a Toyota Yaris in the process, according to police. Then, the car headed back to hit the street light pole as it came to a halt.
A wheel chair, reportedly belonging to the woman who drove the Ford, flew out of the car and on to the road.
The 44-year-old man driving the oncoming car sustained minor injuries, an emergency crew officer revealed. Therefore, first responders transported him to the hospital, along with the woman. The male driver reportedly complained of agonizing pains to the back and hip. Both drivers sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
