According to a Louisville Metro Police Department spokesperson, an accident near Vettiner Golf Course has left three people injured.
The spokesperson said a car and a golf cart collided on Billtown Road and Mary Dell Lane. He reported that an eyewitness claimed that speed was a factor in the crash, as the driver of the car allegedly traveled at a high speed. The witness said he barely managed to escape being involved in the crash.
One of the victims suffered critical injuries and was transported to a hospital for emergency surgery, officials said. Additionally, the other two victims also sustained serious injuries; paramedics transported them to the hospital as well. However, authorities have yet to release the victims’ current medical conditions.
Police have not determined the reason for the collision nor have they disclosed the number of people involved in the crash. They have yet to release any additional details pertaining to the crash. Investigations are ongoing.
