Police report that a teenager and his 42-year-old mother were hospitalized after being rear-ended by a pickup truck on Bardstown Road.
According to police the accident involved a Mazda and a pickup truck on Bardstown Road in Louisville. It was reported that the woman, driving the 2010 Mazda 3 who had her son as passenger with her, was headed southbound towards Thixton when the accident happened.
A witness said that the car was rear-ended by a pick-up truck, driven by 30-year-old man, causing her to lose control of her vehicle. She swerved out of her lane following the collision before coming to a stop alongside the truck.
EMS arrived at the site of the accident and administered on-site medical care to the injured parties. It was reported that the woman sustained head and hip injuries while her son was seen with bruises on his head and arms. The pickup truck driver received only minor injuries. They were all taken to a nearby hospital soon after EMS arrived.
