Louisville Car Accident

A 41-year-old woman lost control of her vehicle on I-65, resulting in a 3-vehicle accident.

Police stated that the accident occurred on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Expressway. A woman reportedly lost control of her Cadillac ATS while traveling at a high speed. Her car then rear-ended a van that was transporting seven people. Police stated that the impact of the crash on the van could be what made the driver of the van lose control. The van crashed into the shoulder of the road after being struck by the Cadillac.

According to authorities, another car was also involved in the accident. Police reported that it is not known if the car was sideswiped by the Cadillac or the van. It was noted that the car was sideswiped as it crashed into the side of the road.

Emergency crew responded to the incident and transported eight people who were reportedly injured to a nearby hospital. Five out of the seven occupants of the van sustained serious injuries. The woman who drove the Cadillac, as well as the two occupants of the car that was sideswiped, sustained injuries.

Police are investigating the crash.

Dr. Brian Elias, from The Accident and Injury Team, comments on this crash.  “We are sorry to hear about this multi-vehicle crash that happened in Louisville. As drivers, we must remember to obey the speed limit and always drive defensively. It is not enough to just drive safe ourselves we must always stay vigilant of other drivers on the road. We hope that no one has life-threatening injuries, and we wish everyone involved a speedy recovery from this crash. During an accident whether your injured or not you must be aware that back and neck injuries are not always obviously sustained. They can develop after an accident and seem minor. Do not ignore your body because even slight pain can mean that you’ve been injured more than you know. Always seek professional help after any accident.”
