Authorities reported that a crash occurred between a school bus and two other vehicles. This led to 7 kids and several adults sustaining injuries.
This accident happened on the intersection of South 26th Street and Garland Avenue. Police reported that an SUV ran the red light and T-boned a school bus in the rear side. The school bus was reportedly headed towards Brandeis Elementary School. At this occurrence, another car traveling behind the school bus crashed into them as the SUV flipped over from hitting the bus. It was reported that the school bus rolled over due to the severity of the impact.
Police reported the number of people involved in the crash to be ten total. There were seven juveniles with an average age of 14, and three other adults driving the three vehicles. A 32-year-old man drove the school bus, a 27-year-old man drove the SUV and a 37-year-old man drove the sedan.
EMS arrived at the site of the crash within few minutes after the accident occurred. The juveniles sustained severe injuries and were extricated from the rolled over school bus. The driver of the SUV sustained severe injuries as well, while the other two only sustained minor injuries.
Police are still investigating the crash.
