Police reported that a car was rear-end by an SUV along KY-907, near Shell Gas Station, resulting in 5 people being injured.
According to EMS report, there were 3 passengers inside the car that was rear-ended. The impact of the crash was massive, police said. The two passengers that sat in the back seat reportedly suffered life-threatening injuries. The 32-year-old man and 24-year-old woman rear passengers both had to be extricated from the car. They were rushed to a nearby hospital where they were immediately placed on life support, EMS added.
The SUV reportedly crashed into the car from the rear while braking for the traffic light. The car in front was driven by a 43-year-old woman, who reportedly started applying her brakes close to the Arnoldtown Rd intersection. The 2014 Cadillac SRX SUV was driven by a 27-year-old man coming up from behind her car at a high rate of speed which didnt allow him to brake in time to avoid the impact, sources say.
It was reported that the driver of the SUV sustained head injuries. All the crash victims were immediately taken to the hospital for treatment.
