1 Dead And Multiple Severe Injuries In Two-Car Accident In Louisville

Police say that a 32-year-old man was killed in a two-car crash in Prairie Village after his vehicle crossed into the the lane of another vehicle traveling in the opposite direction on Stonestreet Road.

The accident happened on Stonestreet Road near the Virginia Avenue United Methodist church. The incident occured when the 32-year-old of a 2011 BMW 535i lost control of his vehicle as he headed southbound on Streetstreet Rd. He crossed the middle traffic line and hit a 2014 Toyota Corolla going north in the opposite direction. Law enforcement officials did not report why or how he lost control.

According to a LMPD officer all 4 of the  occupants of the Corolla that was struck were taken to the hospital with severe injuries. The injuries the passengers sustained were reported to be non-life-threatening. The driver of the Corolla was in critical condition and was reportedly unconscious when the rescue crews arrived.

The driver of the BMW was transported by ambulance for his severe injuries but died upon arriving at the hospital. The other occupants in the BMW sustained head, hip and back injuries and were in stable condition.

Police are still investigating the cause of the crash .
