An intense three-car accident closed both directions of Massachusetts Avenue near Dorchester Brewing Company and has left several people injured, police stated.
According to the Boston Police Department, the accident happened in the 1240 block of Massachusetts Avenue. A Hyundai Sonata with two female occupants was traveling northbound when it was rear-ended by a BMW 528i. Police further clarified that a Nissan car which was also traveling northbound, T-boned the Hyundai on the driver’s side.
It was reported that the driver of the Nissan, a 43-year-old man, and the 38-year-old driver of the Hyundai, that was struck twice were rushed to the hospital and are both listed in critical condition. Police further reported that the female passenger of the Hyundai and the driver of the BMW were taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition.
Police said the road is closed for cleanup and that it would reopen in about 2 hours for free flow of traffic.
The accident is still being investigated by the Boston Police Department.
