2 Severe Injuries In A Crash Between A Motorcycle And Pedestrian On Chittick Road
March 25, 2018 The Accident and Injury Team

28-year-old man struck by a motorcycle while jogging on Chittick Rd, off Truman Pkwy, police report.

A pedestrian, whose name has not been released, was struck by a motorcycle, police revealed. A 31-year-old man from Beacon Street, was operating the motorcycle. Incidentally, at the time of the crash, he was traveling to Moynihan Playgrand, police stated.

A witness reported that the pedestrian was jogging on the shoulder of the road, wearing an earpiece. Subsequently, the  eyewitness stated, “Just few moments before the motorcyclist drove by, he stepped into the road without checking for oncoming vehicle.” However, according to police, the motorcyclist swerved off the road and struck the pedestrian.

First emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after the accident. They transported both victims to the hospital. The pedestrian sustained massive injuries. Likewise, the motorcyclist sustained severe injuries; the impact of the crash threw him off his motorcycle.

The authorities reported that the pedestrian was carried away bleeding from the head, arm and legs. Additionally, the motorcyclist’s helmet was smashed; police confirmed that he was unconscious after the crash.

Consequently, because of the conflicting accounts between the authorities and the eyewitness, the cause of the collision is not yet known. Therefore, police are still investigating the crash.
