According to Louisville EMS two man are injured, one in critical condition, following a semi-truck head-on collision accident on S. Hurstbourne Parkway.
Law enforcement authorities say the accident happened when a 2010 Toyota Camry traveling northbound on S. Hurstbourne Parkway collided head-on with a semi-truck.
The 42-year-old male who was driving the semi-truck reportedly lost control and collided with the Corolla. Police did not give any details on how or why the accident happened. The 34-year-old driver and 28-year-old passenger in the Toyota were trapped inside the vehicle after the crash, police said. First responders had to cut through the car in order to extricate and rescue the occupants from the wreck.
EMS reported that the Toyota driver and the passenger suffered various degrees of injuries to the head, neck, back and legs. Both were immediately transported to a nearby hospital.
EMS later reported that the passenger in the Corolla sustained non-life threatening injuries and was only taken to the hospital for observation and minor treatments. The semi-truck driver suffered no injuries.
Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the crash and no charges have been filed yet.
