Police stated that two motorcycle riders were severely injured when the driver of a car struck their motorcycle as they were driving down Moreland St.
Police reported that the 30-year old driver of the 2014 Subaru Impreza rear-ended a motorcycle while they were in motion. It was reported that both of them were at a moderate rate of speed. According to the police, this accident happened at the intersection between Montrose Street and Moreland Street.
The accident occurred when the motorcycle was heading onto Montrose Street, police said. It is not been confirmed if the 22-year-old motorcycle driver indicated a turn while pulling up to the intersection. However, the driver of the Subaru, when questioned denied that the motorcyclist indicated a turn. The driver of the Subaru hatchback was still on site of the accident at his volition to help the investigation process. Police confirmed that he was not injured.
However, police reported that the motorcycle rider and the 24-year-old passenger were seriously injured. EMS stated that they sustained serious injuries to the head and chest. They were both rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment after EMS stabilized them.
Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
