According to the report from LMPD, three men from Cave City were involved in a fatal accident along Dr Martin Luther King Jr. Expy.
According to Louisville Metro Police, the cause of the crash is not precisely known but certain deductions can be made. The spokesman for the police said it appears the 2012 Ford Truck rolled over for at least 3 times. “It could be that the truck’s front wheel flew off or deflated suddenly while at highway speed,” the spokesman said. It was reported from the ongoing investigation that the front wheels detached from the wheel arm.
The 39-year-old driver was with two other men, as reported by the authorities. A witness, who called the authorities said that he was in a car behind the truck. He also said he was about a quarter mile away from him. “So, I slowed down, parked, dialed the emergency line and also tried to alert the other oncoming vehicles,” he said. He said the accident already appeared fatal, “no one is expected to survive such accident”.
However, the driver and the two men were immobile after the accident happened. But the passenger seated beside the driver was pronounced dead on arriving at a nearby hospital. The other sustained life-threatening injuries on the head, neck and back.
Dr. Brian Elias, from The Accident and Injury Team, comments on this crash. “This was a very violent crash. We are very sad for the family that lost a loved one. We also hope that the investigation is quickly finished and that the injuries to those that survived this crash aren’t too severe.
