A Sports Utility Vehicle sideswipes a school bus with 13 students on-board while travelling northbound on Dorsey Lane resulting in minor injuries.
Louisville Metro Police stated that the SUV was heading northbound on Dorsey Lane towards N Hurstbourne Pkwy at a high rate of speed. The 40-year-old man driving reportedly lost control of the SUV while overtaking a school bus around the corner of Ward Avenue. The SUV swerved and sideswiped the school bus causing it to flip onto the shoulder of the road after it was struck.
There were 13 students riding in the bus on their way to school when the accident happened.
EMS were seen on the site of the crash giving medical care to the students and the adults involved in the crash. The driver of the bus reportedly complained of whiplash pain in his neck and back as well as an injury to his shoulder. The driver of the SUV was also injured while the students in the bus also sustained several degrees of injuries. There were all taken to a nearby hospital.
The cause of the crash is still being investigated and no other details were released to the public.
