A 46 year-old Boston woman was reportedly involved in a severe crash while traveling northbound of I-93, Southeast Expressway.
According to the report received from BPD, the 2016 Chevrolet Malibu was found stuck in the woods off I-93 near Neponset Trail. Boston Police Department spokesman confirmed that a call came in reporting a crash on the highway. The crash happened at sundown.
It was reported that the woman was in comma when the officials arrived. She was transported by helicopter to City Hospital after being resuscitated. “She has sustained internal injuries which need urgent attention,” police said.
One of the eyewitnesses who stayed back to help after the crash said, “the crash was an unfortunate one”. He said the woman may have been distracted while receiving a call or she fell asleep while driving. “It is not clear what actually happened that made her swerve off the highway suddenly,” the eyewitness said.
The authorities reported that the cause of the crash still remains unknown. The crash is still being investigated.
